Early Life: LaRaye was born September 19, 1939, in Springville, Utah, to Willis K. Johnson III and Madge Hales Johnson. LaRaye grew up in Springville and was a mighty Red Devil at Springville High School.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: On January 4, 1964, LaRaye married the love of her life, David Lee Gabbitas. Together they had three children: Tom, LeeAnn and Jim. She loved her family, camping trips, family BBQs and most of all, the 24th of July family reunions up Springville Crossings as well as the very special trips she and her husband took fishing and camping. She loved to color, quilt, sew, play cards and also being the best crosswalk lady. She knew every child by their name; she loved her crosswalk kids. LaRaye Johnson Gabbitas passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on February 17, 2018, in Santaquin, Utah. She was 78.

Survived By: Her sweetheart of 64 years; her three children: Tom Gabbitas, LeeAnn Powell, Jim (Lori) Gabbitas; 13 grandkids; 15 great grandkids; sister, Kaye (Bob) Wiley; brother, Ted (Kris) Johnson; and Dave (Laura) Johnson.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents; in-laws, Robert A. Gabbitas and Beryl Hill Gabbitas; as well as sister-in-law, Mary Lee Rowland Johnson.
