William F. "Bill" Boone, 75, died peacefully at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston. The son of the late Lester B. and Stella Mae Boone, he was also preceded in death by a brother, James; and a sister, Jo Rattigen. He was a member of AF&AM Masonic Lodge 54, Cottageville, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Bodies and Beni Kedem Shriners. A lifetime member of Local 132 International Union of Operating Engineers, he helped build many of the buildings, roads, bridges and tunnels we enjoy in West Virginia today. Surviving: Eleanor Cotton Boone, his wife of 55 years; sons, Frank and Bobby; grandchildren, Franc and Bobbie Jean; great-granddaughter, Jacey; brothers, Paul of Hurricane, Roger of St. Albans; sisters, Helen Haverlan of Cincinnati, Ohio, Clara Hall of Melbourne, Fla., Mary Wallace of Charleston.
