DELORES S. GRAYSON, age 74 l, of Springfield, Illinois, recently of Houston, TX died Thursday, September 26, 2002 at 11:40 PM at the Regency Healthcare in Springfield, Illinois. She was born on 10-20-1927 in Hoxie, KS to Henry D. and Amanda Hicks Starr.

Delores was a caregiver for home healthcare and was a member of the Cherokee Indian Nation. She was raised and lived in OK most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter Sharon Giles, 4 brothers: Kirk Grayson, Henry Starr, Gano Starr, and Marshall Starr.

Survivors include daughter Dee Ann Scott (husband Bob) of Chatham, IL; grandchildren, Deana Giles of NYC, NY, Matthew Scott of Bloomington, IL, Joy Russell (husband Corey) of Austin, TX, Richard Scott of Savannah, GA, son-in-law Roy Giles of Newcastle, OK; great grandchild Carter Russell of Austin, TX; sister Lura Grayson of Tulsa, OK; brother Cedric Starr of Tulsa, OK; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation Services of Central IL, 201 S. Grand, Chatham, IL 62629 accorded cremation rites. Memorial Services will be held at a later date in OK. Staab Polk Memorial Home, Chatham, IL is serving the Grayson Family. Burial is in Moore, OK. Memorials to American Cancer Society.
