Services for Louis J. Van Vark, 87, of Pella. who died June 17, 1993 at his home, were held June 19 at First Reformed Church. Garden Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery. The Revs. Dave Klanderman and Kenneth Dykstra officiated at the services.
Mr. Van Vark was born Feb. 5, 1906 in the Sandridge area, the son of John H. and Mary L. Van Gorp Van Vark. He grew up and attended school in the Sandridgearea.
On Jan. 2.1935, he married Hattie Vander Werff. They farmed in the Pella area and moved into Pella in 1969 where he was then employed by Pella Historical Society.
He was a member of First Reformed Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harry, Francis, and Cecil; and one grandson, Loel Van Vark.
A memorial has been established to First Reformed Church.
