Irma S. Turner 1917 ~ 2006
Irma S. Turner, 89, of Salt Lake City, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2006. Irma was born on February 22, 1917 in Mohrland, Utah to LeRoy and Catherine Strong. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many leadership and teaching positions in the church as well as served in the Ventura California Mission. Irma married Verland J. Turner in Farmington, Utah, which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Verland preceded her in death.
Irma is survived by five children, Richard H. (Norma), Mark (Shirl), Alice Hamblin (Duane), Blaine (Lillian), and Chriss (Julie). She was loved by her children, 22 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Irma is also survived by Catherine N. Newman and Faye Strong.
The family thanks Woodland Park Care Center for their special love and attention.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Midvale East 2nd Chapel; 7250 South, 3rd East. The viewing will be held at 1 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Midvale City Cemetery.
