Dereal Kent Hatch passed away on October 27, 2017 in Orem, Utah from cancer. Kent was born on May 9, 1925 in Salt Lake City to True Bradford Hatch and Alice Janette Barlow Hatch. He graduated from Davis High School before joining the Navy Air Corps when he was seventeen.

Kent was a strong and determined man who always stood for fairness and what he believed was right. He had a passion for mechanics and cars, loved driving, boating and traveling. Kent worked in sales and managed several auto dealerships. He loved his children and grandchildren.

Kent is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley Rae Allen Jensen Hatch; brother, Ralph Hatch (Deon); children, Saundra K Ferguson (Phil), Linda Steenbergen (Alex), Tisa Biggs (Mike), Russell Kent Hatch (Linda), Karen Denise Hatch Schmidt, Kathy Alise Hatch Millett (Steve), Mark Lee Hatch (Nancy), Kerrie Alene Hatch Estrada (Bob), and Kim Irene Hatch Odom; 25 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, 7 step-children, 24 step-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kent was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Hales Hatch, who passed away in 1973.

The family is appreciative of the love, service, and kindnesses shown by friends, neighbors, and ward members. They also wish to express their gratitude to Kathy Marsden, Heidi Lafferty and the staff from A-Plus Hospice for their loving and tender care of Kent during his last days. The family is also very grateful to Orem Rehab & Nursing Facility for their loving care.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 4th at 11:00 am at the Windsor 7th Ward Chapel, 1405 North Main Street, Orem, Utah, where a Viewing will be held from 9:30 to10:30 am. Interment in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery with Military Honors.
