Esther was born in Orangeburg County and was the daughter of the late Fletcher and Fannie Mae Hutto Sharpe. She was the wife of the late Randolph Gunter for 57 years prior to his death in 2003. She is survived by her children, James N. Gunter (Patty), Sylvia G. Cook (Walter), Allen L. Gunter, Nancy G. Corbin (Al), Sandy G. Cason (Donnie) and Mary G. Miles (Keith); ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Shirley S. Williams, Lois S. Gleaton and brother Major Sharpe. Esther lived her life as a woman who had a strong faith in God, and always set an example before family and friends. She was a Proverbs 31 woman, and a homemaker in every sense of the word, and always enjoyed the gathering of family and friends in her home. Her friends in her church and community have been on the receiving end of her many prayers and acts of kindness. Her legacy will be that she was a loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and a prayer warrior that never wavered in her amazing faith and trust in God.
