She was employed by Hagerstown Shoe Co. She was a member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, where she was a member of the Bykota Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Home League with the Salvation Army, and volunteered with the Alexander House Senior Citizens. She was a member of National AARP.
She is survived by one daughter, Lois Wolford; one brother, James M. Hammond of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mabel Keplinger; and three brothers, Ralph H. Hammond, Charles G. Hammond and John E. Hammond.
