Almond Merrill, Old Resident of Wisconsin, Dies.
Almond Merrill, age 74 years, passed away Sunday morning at 9:50 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Hoeckstra, 1129 North Eleventh Street, where he resided.
Mr. Merrill was born in Median County, Ohio, in 1849 and came to Wisconsin with his parents when he was four years of age. The family located in Calumet County and Mr. Merrill came to Sheboygan two years ago and since lived here. On April 28, 1871, he united in marriage to Miss Jennie Podd (sic-Todd), who preceded him in death on February 6, 1922.
The survivors are four sons, Harry and Garfield Merrill Chilton; Ellis Merrill, Stevens Point, and Glenn Merrill, this city: two daughters, Mrs. Hoeckstra, and Miss Lydia Merrill, this city: eighteen grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. C.J. Manning, of Walcott, New York.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Hoeckstra residence. Rev. W.D. Wells of the First Baptist Church will officiate and interment will be made in Wildwood Cemetery.
