THOMAS DAVIES DIES HOSPITAL
Elwood Attorney Succumbs Following Emergency Appendicitis Operation.
Attorney Thomas J. Davies, 34, residing at 2106 South K street, former deputy prosecutor, died at the Mercy hospital Wednesday afternoon at 4:45 o'clock.
He was removed to the hospital Saturday evening and Sunday submitted to an emergency appendicitis operation. Complications developed and he expired yesterday afternoon.
The son of Thomas and Martha Davies, he was born in Elwood February 12, 1903, and in 1926 he was united in marriage to Miss Bernice Blake. Seven children were born to this union.

Attorney Davies was graduated from the local Senior High School and later was graduated from the Indiana University Law School.
Since graduation from law school Attorney Davies had practiced law in Elwood. He served two two-year terms as deputy prosecutor here. Attorney Davies was active in Democrat politics.
Funeral Saturday.
Surviving besides the parents and widow are seven children, Arwyn, Marguerite, Katherine, Marilyn, Martha, David and an infant daughter, and one sister, Mrs. A. C. Pritchard, of McKeesport, Pa.
Funeral services will be conducted at the family home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Robert W. Sage, pastor of the First Baptist Church, in charge. Burial will follow in the city cemetery.
The Elwood Bar Association, of which Attorney Davies was a member, passed a resolution of condolence at a special meeting held this morning at 10 o'clock at the office of Attorney R. F. Broadbent. A copy of the resolution will be sent to the family.
