A. J. Grigsby, Jr., 74, Dies; Rites Today
Funeral services for Andrew Jackson Grigsby, Jr., 74, retired Nashville attorney, will be held at 3 p.m. today at the home, 109 Kenner Ave.
The Rev. Gaye McLaughlin, pastor of the Immanuel Baptist church will officiate and burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The body is at the home and Finley-Dorris and Charlton funeral home is in charge.
Mr. Grigsby died of cancer at 10:45 a.m. yesterday at his home following an illness of two months.
A native of Nashville, he was the son of the late A. J. and Serena Howell Grigsby. Mr. Grigsby was a graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Law.
In 1918 he married the former Miss Sara Butler of Shelbyville, who survives.
Mr. Grigsby was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and a Mason.
Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Henderson Baker; a brother, James S. Grigsby, both of Nashville, and several nieces and nephews.
