James Scott Grigsby, Sr., age 74, of 4400 Estes Rd, founder and former owner of Tennessee Tissue Mills, Inc., passed away at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday (13 Jan 1965) in Baptist Hospital.A native of Nashville, he was a son of Edith Serena "Rena" Howell (1849-1924) and Andrew Jackson Grigsby, Sr. (1850-1941). He was educated here and founded Tennessee Tissue Mills in 1922. He retired as president eight years ago. He was a veteran of World War I.Grigsby was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was known locally as a magician; he was a member of Circle Magique.Remains are at Finley Dorris & Charlton, West End at Twenty-fifth Ave. The funeral will be held Thursday (14 Jan 1965) at 2:00 p.m. from Hartwell Memorial Chapel, Westminster Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. A. L. Currie and Dr. Ronald Carrier. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.In 1927 he married the former Mary Hunter Orr, who survives. Mr. Grigsby is also survived by a son, James Scott Grigsby, Jr. of Nashville and two grandsons, James Scott Grigsby III and Glenn Garrett Grigsby; nieces, Andrena Grigsby Butterfield Woodward (John Reid) and Bette Baker Butterfield DeMoss (Robert H.).Pallbearers will be William E.
