Joan was born on June 21, 1928, in Lincoln, Ill., the oldest of eight siblings.
Joan dedicated her life to the care and keeping of others. She worked tirelessly for the American Red Cross, the Western Illinois University (WIU) Newman Center and the WIU Faculty Wives.
Joan Elizabeth Suycott, of Verona, Wis., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, with family at her side.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Diane Recob of Fitchburg, Wis.; granddaughter, Anna Recob; son, David Suycott of Evanston, Ill.; and grandsons, Lucas Suycott and Harry Gladney.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Forrest David Suycott, Jr.; brothers, Thomas Romer and Robert Romer; and sister, Lynne Bayliss.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Thursday, Jan. 4, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 321 S. Lafayette Street, Mt. Pulaski, Ill. Visitation will be held at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, 202 N. Lafayette Street, Mt. Pulaski, Ill., from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2017. Burial will be held at Danville National Cemetery, Danville, Ill., at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 5, 2017. All memorials may be made in honor of Joan to Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg, Wis.
