Alex Bode, 96, Dies
Alex Bode, 96, of Fulton, Mo, formerly of Mexico, Mo. died peacefully in his sleep Wed, Dec 20, 2017, at his home.
He was born Feb 18, 1921, in Taos, Mo. to Stephen & Johanna (Koetting) Bode. He married Dorothy Belle Crump Sep 17, 1949, in Jefferson City, Mo. who passed on Jul 19, 2008.
He completed a 30-year career as a truck driver with Wetterau Foods, Inc. of Mexico in 1983. He then dedicated his time to the Bode Simmental Cattle Farm west of Mexico. He was a longtime member of St. Brendan’s, Mexico and currently a member of St. Peter’s Church, Fulton.
Survivors include a son and two daughters: Gary Alexander & Elizabeth Anne (Bevans) Bode, Springfield, VA, Linda Ann & Ron Aungerer & Janice Marie Bode, all of New Bloomfield, Mo; three grandchildren, Dustin Brown, Overland Park, KS, Gavin & Susan Diane (Dumcum) Bode, Stagecoach, TX, & Lara Snyder, Columbia, Mo; one great grand-daughter, Linda Lee Bode; two sisters, Mildred Landwehr & Helen Blume, both of Jefferson City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Cletus, Ed, & Fred Bode; four sisters, Marie Stokes, Gertrude Kaemmerlen, Dorothy Smith & Catherine Graessle.
Visitation will be Dec. 28th, 4-6 p.m, at the Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. A Memorial Prayer Service officiated by Mr. Bruce Williamson will be on Dec. 29th, 11 a.m. at the Debo Funeral Home. After the Prayer Service, entombment will be at Garden of Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia.
