"Louis Otto Dietrich Sr. of Fredericksburg passed away on December 12, 2017 at the age of 86. Louis was born on November 9, 1931 to Arthur R. Dietrich Sr. and Esther Anna Durst Dietrich in Gillespie County. He married Marie Elizabeth Klaerner on July 31, 1953 in Aberdeen Maryland.
He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a welder in aircraft construction.
Mr. Dietrich is survived by his children; Darlene Spencer and husband Don of Fredericksburg, Deborah Page of Fredericksburg, Becky Dietrich of Harper, Sandra Bodenhamer and husband Lee of Fredericksburg, and Glen Dietrich of Harper; brother Raymond Dietrich and wife Kathy of Bryan; sister Lorene Avant of Kyle; 8 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Marie Elizabeth Dietrich, his parents Arthur R. Dietrich Sr. and Esther Anna Dietrich; son Louis O.Dietrich Jr, daughter Sherry Dixon; sisters, Leola Fuhrmann, Vernell Maenius, Dora Feuge and brother Whitey Dietrich.
Visitation will take place on Friday December 15, 2017 from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in the Fredericksburg Funeral Home.
Funeral service will take place on Saturday December 16, 2017 at 10:00a.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church with pastors Casey Zesch and Elliott Pancoast officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbeares will be Zane Beckmann, Shannon Beckmann, Jeffrey Puckett, Adam Page, Jason Whitehead, and Dale Fuhrmann.
Honorary Pallbearers; Cody Goff, James Bodenhamer, Demetra Wenzel.
