She was born in Waterville, the youngest daughter of Arthur and Eldora Brillard, graduated from Winslow High School with honors, and worked at J. C. Penney for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard, and her siblings, Eugene Brillard, Lucille Morrissette, and Beatrice Paradis. Gloria is survived by her three children, Gail Oviatt of Durham, N.C., Gary Gilbert of Winslow, and Gwen Yueh of Durham, N.C., as well as her son-in-law Alan Yueh; and four grandchildren Asher, Hannah, Joshua, and Caleb.
The family wishes to thank hospice workers Deborah Lewis and Norma Wilson for their dedicated and attentive service, and we are especially grateful for friends Linda, Ron, and Olivia, who helped graciously with care-giving at the end.
To honor Gloria's request, there will be no service and she will be laid to rest at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to: www.komen.org to support metastatic breast cancer research. (Central Maine Newspapers 12/16/2017)
