She was a devoted mother and cherished time with her family. Walnut Street Baptist Church was her spiritual home for 87 years, and a cornerstone of her life. Jane loved reading, music, and children. She was a graduate of Agnes Scott College, a member of PEO Chapter A, and served on the board of Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children and as an Associate of Georgetown College. She was also a volunteer at Kosair Children's Hospital and Every 1 Reads.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents V.V. Cooke and Elva Bivens Cooke, son John Charles Cross, brother V.V. Cooke Jr., and sister June Hook.
She is survived by children Janet, Joe (Ann), Julie Henry (Errol), Jennifer (Tracie Anderson), Jason, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation Wednesday from 3:00 7:00 p.m Memorial service Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Private burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
