A. E. BENGSTON, 66 DIES AT HIS HOME
Alex Elmer Bengston, 66, 126 Morningside, die Monday afternoon at his residence after several months of general decline.
Mr. Bengston has been a Council Bluffs resident 44 years and formerly resided at Essex, Iowa. He was a piano tuner and member of the Methodist Church.
Some 35 years ago Mr. Bengston was a member of the Imperial Quartet that toured the Orpheum Circuit. Later he was a member of the original local Elks’ quartet. He also was active in bowling and horse shoe leagues.
Surviving are his widow, Vera; four sons, Bernard, Erwin, Jack, and Wilbur Bengston, all of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Almquist, of Essex and Mrs. Frances Swanson of Shenandoah; a brother, Victor Bengston of Essex, and his mother Mrs. Lud Bengston of Essex.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Woodring’s Chapel, the Rev. Louis Watson of Broadway Methodist Church official. Burial will be in Walnut Hill. The body is at the Woodring Funeral Home.
