Kizzie Collins Alford, 86, widow of Rutledge “Bubba” Cleveland Alford, died Monday, December 4, 2017, at the Medical University Hospital in Charleston.

Mrs. Alford was born November 3, 1931 in Florence County, a daughter of the late Emory Collins and Ollie Yarborough Collins. She grew up in Salem and attended public schools. Mrs. Alford an accomplished seamstress and worked for Oneita Knitting Mills until retirement. Mrs. Alford was a very dedicated member of Happy Home Original Freewill Baptist Church, where she was very active in several organizations. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Surviving are: two sons, Carol Alford (Patricia) and Don Alford (Deonna) both of Andrews; two daughters, Judy A. Gray of Greeleyville and Cheryl A. Davis (Jeff) of Cope; a sister, Mammie Godwin of Salem; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alford is predeceased by: a son, Jimmy Alford and a brother, LeGrand Collins.

A special thank you is given by the family to her devoted caregiver, Margie Miller.

Funeral Services will be at two o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, December 6, 2017, at Happy Home Original Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening November 5, 2017, at Happy Home Original Freewill Baptist Church from six until eight o’clock.
