LESTER EARL STROHM

Funeral services for Lester “Chummy” Strohm, age 84, of 1916 24th St., Two
Rivers, who died Thursday evening, March 10, 2005 at his residence with his
loving wife of 58 years at his side, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday,
March 14, 2005 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Scherbarth. Burial will
follow at Pioneer’s Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers, where graveside military rites
will be accorded by the Two Rivers FFW Post #1248 and the American Legion Post
#165.
The family will greet relatives and friends Monday, March 14, 2005 at church
from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m.
The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, is
assisting the Strohm family with funeral arrangements.

LESTER STROHM

Lester "Chummy" Strohm, age 84, of 1916 24th St., Two Rivers, died
Thursday evening, March 10, 2005 at his residence with his loving wife
of 58 years at his side.
Lester was born Aug. 29, 1920 in Lena, son of the late Edward P. and
Mayme (Teteak) Strohm. Chummy graduated from Washington High School with
the class of 1938. He served in the U.S. Army from August 1942 to
November 1945 serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He
received his honorable discharge with the rank of sergeant. On May 10,
1947, he married the former Margaret E. Boprey at St. John's Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Two Rives. Chummy was employed with the Two Rivers
Postal Service for 38 years. He began as a postal clerk and retired as a
rural mail carrier in 1980. He was a member of the Two Rivers VFW Post
#1248 and American Legion Post #165, St. John's Lutheran Men's Club and
the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Survivors include his wife: Margaret Strohm, Two Rivers; two daughters
and sons-in-law: Christine and Lawrence Reagan, Green Bay; Doreen and
Edward DeWilde, Seymour; one son and daughter-in-law: Craig and Diana
Strohm, Grass Valley, Calif.; three grandchildren: Rachel (Jason) Thron,
Naomi (Timothy) Trinh, all of Seymour; Garrett Strohm, Grass Valley,
Calif.; four great-grand-children: Tegan and Ava Thron, Nadia and Mason
Trinh; four stepgrandchildren: Steven, Veronica and Vincent Reagan,
Laura Strohm; two step great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Reagan.
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was
preceded in death by one grandson: Shawn Haley; four brothers: Elkhart,
George, Vernon and Orville; and one sister: LaVerne Ahrens.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2005 at
St. John' Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the
service will be the Rev. David Scherbarth. Burial will follow at
Pioneer's Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers, where graveside military rites will

husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be loved and
missed forever.
