(1908 - 1969)

Lyle Elhart Strohm, 60, of 902 20th St., Two Rivers, secretary-treasurer of Hamilton Employees Credit Union and a former supervisor in the shipping department of Hamilton Mfg. Co., died unexpectedly of a heart attack enroute from his home to Two Rivers Municipal Hospital, Wednesday night.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 am Friday at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, the Rev. James Stamborski officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Strohm was born at Wabeno, December 10, 1908, son of the late Two Rivers Police Officer Edward P. and Mayme Teteak Strohm. The family moved to Manitowoc in 1926 and a short time later to Two Rivers, where he was active in sports and was a catcher on a number of amateur baseball teams for several years. He began his 41 years of employment with the Hamilton firm in 1928 and for several years was a supervisor in the shipping department. He was a member of the Hamilton 30 Year Club and Eleven Gold Star Post 1248 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had been associated with the Hamilton Employee Credit Union for many years serving on its board. He served overseas with the Army in World War II.

Besides his wife, the former Elizabeth Waier of Two Rivers, whom he married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, September 24, 1929, he leaves a sister, Mrs. Clifford Ahrens of Manitowoc and three brothers, Orville of Lena, Vernon of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, and Lester of Two Rivers.
