Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Donna Burrows Yates, passed away March 25, 2002, at the age of 78, in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born July 7, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Wilford Creeland and Trieste Smith Burrows. Married A. Doyle Yates on August 20, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Donna was a devoted member of the LDS Church. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family. The joy of her life was her beloved husband of 61 years, Doyle. She loved caring for him and each and every one of her children and grandchildren. She loved any activities that involved her family: vacations, family parties, eating out, or just sitting and visiting. Some of her hobbies included crocheting, bowling, shopping, gardening, and watching sporting events. After attending 40 years of Utah High School basketball games, Donna and Doyle were honored as being "Super Fans" by the Utah High School Activities Association.
Donna is survived by her husband, Doyle; her children, son, Larry (Debbie); daughter, Pamm; son, John (Karen); daughter, Jill Allen (Jim); 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Burton, Iva Wissler, Evva (Bill) Spencer, and Betty (LaMar) Withers; brothers, Ralph (Ida) Burrows, Ted (Helen) Burrows, Dick Burrows, and Bob (Lariese) Burrows; life-long friends, Ruth Nelson Rasmussen and Wanda Glover.
She is preceded in death by an infant son, Duane; sister, Dorothy Holt; brother, Glen Burrows; and her parents.
The family would like to express many thanks to Harmony Hospice and Dr. Nibley for their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in the Midvale 7th & 8th Ward Chapel, 8350 South Jackson St. (350 West), Midvale. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Thursday 6-8 p.m. or Friday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
