Lucy was born on her parents' ranch near Cannonball in 1884, daughter of Baptist Black Hawk Pierre and Winyantanka, later known as Jane Pierre, and married Moses LaFromboise in approximately 1903. They had nine children between 1904 and 1919 (Baptist, Moses, Clara, Jennie, Samson, Sarah, Eva, Cecilia and Elias). Eight of the children died in infancy and were buried at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Fort Yates, North Dakota. Cecilia was the only child who survived to adulthood. Lucy's first husband, Moses Lafromboise, was a blacksmith in Cannonball. They divorced prior to 1925 when he married Mabel Blue Earth. Moses and Mabel divorced prior to 1940 at which time Moses was living next door to Lucy's half-brother, Samuel King. Lucy Lafromboise married her second husband, John Brought Plenty, on January 1, 1926. They had a son, Kenneth Brought Plenty, in 1931. John Brought Plenty was a WWI veteran and later served as Commander of the Albert Grass American Legion Post in Fort Yates; Lucy Brought Plenty led the American Legion auxiliary in the early 1940s. The last written record found for her was a newspaper article in the Bismarck Tribune in 1943.
