GRACE - Ethel Corbett Sorensen, 101, of Grace, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at the Caribou Memorial Living Center in Soda Springs. She was born June 21, 1901, at Turner, Idaho, the third child in a family of nine to William and Annie Christine Peterson Corbett.

She married John Floyd Sorensen June 1, 1923. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on June 1, 1977. Mr. Sorensen passed away Aug. 3, 1979.

Ethel attended college at Idaho Tech at Pocatello. She taught school in Grace and Turner, Idaho. She later moved to Turner and farmed in 1948, retiring in 1964. She loved teaching, gardening, cooking for her family, and was happiest working hard.

Ethel is survived by three sons, Quentin and Jeanne Sorensen, Good Year, Ariz., DeMar Sorensen, Centerville, Utah, and Glenn and Gwenda Sorensen, Grace, Idaho. Also surviving are a brother, Glenn Corbett, Boulder, Colo.; a sister, Mildred Turner, Grace, Idaho; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and three sisters, William Corbett, Don Corbett, Roy Corbett, Ray Allsop, Florence Panter and Bernice Titus.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 22 at the Williams LDS Ward Chapel at 11 a.m., with Bishop George Kimball of the Grace LDS First Ward officiating. will not be a visitation prior to services on Saturday. Burial will be in the Turner, Idaho Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
