Mrs. Eliza Welton Moore, 86, died at 9 pm Monday at home at Taketezy, Franklin RD 5, after an illness of 4 weeks. She was born April 15, 1949, in Victory Township, daughter of Milo and Jane Morris Welton.
She lived in the Franklin area all her life, and was well known here. She was a member of the Evangelical Church all her life. Her father, Milo Welton, served as a captain in the Civil War, and a brother was a lieutenant in the Union Army.
She married Thomas Dewoody who died in 1887; then she married John Moore. Six children by her first marriage, and one by her second survive, A. J. Dewoody and Mrs. Bert Ferringer of Congress Hill, Mrs. Fred Baker of Rocky Grove, Mrs. Grace Fennel of Franklin, Milo Dewoody of Oil City, Mrs. Lovenia Fullerton, at home, and Homer Moore, at home; with her husband, John Moore; a sister, Mrs. Nancy Major of Detroit, MI; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday in Hickory Grove Church of God with Rev. B. E. Coleman of Franklin First Evangelical Church, and Rev. W. A. Donaldson of Rocky Grove Church of God officiating. Interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
