Keithville, LA - A celebration of Doyle Shaw Sander's life will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017, 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Keithville, LA 6295 Williams Road, Keithville, LA 71047. Officiating will be Reverend Mike Stowell, Pastor at First Baptist Church Keithville.

She was born August 28, 1923 in Ida, LA to Frank and Nita Shaw. Sher married Frank Allen Sanders on February 4, 1943 in Battle Creek, Michigan, prior to his leaving for combat duties in WWII.

Doyle worked in the Caddo Parish School System for a time until her three children were grown. She decided to return to school to pursue her dream of a Master's Degree in Library Science. After earning her Master's Degree, she later was promoted to Supervisor of all libraries in Caddo Parish Schools. She was a member of the honor society Phi Kappa Phi in 1968.

She resided in Shreveport until her retirement from the school system and moved to Keithville, LA. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Keithville, where she served as a Sunday School class teacher. She was instrumental in opening up a church library at the church where she served. Doyle was co-founder of Custom Designs Frames & Gifts.

Doyle was a wonderful wife, loving mother and friend. She was a Godly example to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Frank Allen Sanders, both her parents and two sisters, Mabel and Louise.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert Fletcher Sanders of Lakeland, Florida; David F. Sanders and wife Ann of McKinney, TX; Carter J. Sanders and wife Denise of Springridge, LA; five grandchildren, Todd Sanders and wife Sharee of Allen, TX; Jennifer Sanders Rougon and husband Chase of Mooringsport, LA; Kayce Sanders Merry and husband Matt of Springridge, LA; Amanda Sanders Gibson and husband Thomas of McKinney, TX; Lindsey Sanders Miller and husband Mark of Springridge, LA; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Todd Sanders, Thomas Gibson, Matt Merry, Mark Miller, Chase Rougon, and Larry Joubert.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the Caregivers at The Village at the Glen who worked tirelessly to ensure her care and comfort. A special thanks to "P" with love from the family.
