Surrounded by her loving extended family, Bonnie Wyoma Blackner Snelson passed into the loving arms of her heavenly father on October 30, 2017.

She was born on November 25, 1926 in Lyman Wyoming the 8th of nine children, brothers Ray, Kent, Leonard, Ivar and sisters Nina, Rebecca, Nedra and Dorthy to her parents Ray and Bessie Blackner. She loved her family and learned from an early age to live well and love life.

She met Wilbur (Bish) Snelson at Utah State University. They were married in the Logan Temple and had 6 children, Nedra (Kim) Bean, Jane Widdison, Jeanette (Gary) Herbert, Maureen (Terry) Reid, Clark (Stephanie) Snelson, Robert (Tanya) Snelson.

She loved art and music. She was a prolific painter and loved to capture nature’s beauty on canvas. She sang with the Musettes, played the flute and the piano and served for years as the chorister in her ward. She served in many church callings. A favorite was cub scout leader. She loved to take the boys on outings up Hobble Creek.

She was at home in the outdoors whether golfing, camping with her friends from Brookside, with the family at Bear Lake or Fish Lake she was truly in her element. She taught her children to enjoy the beauties of nature, a crisp fall day, new fallen snow, the flowers of spring. She always had a smile to lift the spirits of those around her.

She treated each day of life as a precious gift. She never let a sunset go unappreciated. She was creative, kind and generous with her time and talents. She took great pride in the many accomplishments of her 6 children, 27 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held Friday November 3 from 6 to 8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S Springville, and 1 hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday November 4 at the Hobble Creek West Stake Center, 550 S Averett Ave. (600 E) Springville.
