Born on Sept. 16, 1956, in DuBois, Pa., he was the son of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Hoyt) Greathouse.
On Dec. 29, 2010, he married Beth (Oknefski) Greathouse. She survives.
Larry retired from SGL Carbon in St. Marys after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5887, and the American Legion Post 208, both in Ridgway, Pa. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
He is survived by two children, Gretchen Greathouse of Hughesville, Md., and Troy Greathouse of Accokeek, Md.; two stepchildren, Ur Frederick of Pittsburgh, Pa., and George Frederick of Ridgway, Pa.; a brother, Ronald Greathouse and his wife, Joyce of DuBois, Pa.; and two sisters, Linda Moore and her husband, Richard of Reynoldsville, Pa., and Janice Pregmon and her husband, Thomas of Treasure Lake, DuBois, Pa.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, from 9 to 11 a.m. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., DuBois.
A private funeral service will follow.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
