Born Nov. 20, 1925, in New Brighton, Pa., he was the son of the late Granville and Helen (Funkhouser) Greathouse.
He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served in World War II.
On Oct. 23, 1948, he married Elizabeth (Hoyt) Greathouse. She preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 2013.
Harold retired as a foreman for Stackpole Carbon Company in St. Marys after 35 years of service.
He was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Hazen. He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida and camping. He loved to work around the outside of his home.
Harold is survived by two sons, Ronald Greathouse and his wife, Joyce of DuBois, Pa. and Larry Greathouse and his wife, Beth of Kersey, Pa.; two daughters, Linda Moore and her husband, Richard of Reynoldsville, Pa. and Janice Pregmon and her husband, Thomas of Treasure Lake, DuBois; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Robert, Kenny, Harvey and Granville Greathouse.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday from the funeral home with Pastor Don Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
