He was a retired teacher and administrator of the Sacramento City Unified School District where he worked 26 years. He was the first African-American Vice-Principal at a middle school in the district. He taught at Luther Burbank High School and was an administrator at Peter Lassen, Kit Carson, Will C. Wood, and Albert Einstein Middle Schools.
His eldest son Anthony preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter Pamela, son Kevin, and twin brother Rudolph, several cousins, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Wednesday, March 22 from 3-7 p.m. at Thompson Rose Chapel, 3601 5th Avenue, Sacramento, 95817. Services will be held on Thursday, March 23 at 1 p.m. at Fremont Presbyterian Church, 5770 Carlson Drive, Sacramento, 95819. Interment will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to either one of his alma maters California State University, Los Angeles or Pepperdine University.
