Dorothy M. Brandenburg (1923-2007)
CLARKSVILLE--Dorothy Maxine Brandenburg, 83, of Clarksville, died Thursday, March 8, at Community Nursing Home, Clarksville, of natural causes.
She was born May 13, 1923 in Butler County, rural Allison, daughter of Martin and Lillian (Sinram) Roose.
She graduated from Clarksville High School in 1941, and attended Dickenson Business College for two years in Waterloo. She worked as a secretary for Hawkeye Steel and Lutheran Mutual Insurance Co. in Waverly. She also farmed with her husband.
She married John Carl August Brandenburg on April 22, 1947, at St. John Lutheran Church, Des Moines. He preceded her in death Jan. 21, 2004.
She is survived by: a sister, Marjorie (Harry) Klinetob of Clarksville.
She was preceded in death by: a brother, Harlan, in childhood; and a sister in infancy, Leona
Services: 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in Lynwood Cemetery, both in Clarksville. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Clarksville, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
