Daughter of George Bennett and Delilah Baker.

Born 21 August 1871 on a farm *near* Payson Illinois. Was educated in Payson.

Belonged to the Payson Methodist church and later to the Congregational church, which she joined in February of 1892.

Married Harlow Spencer 31 December 1891. Moved to Sny island near Hull Illinois. Organized their own small church and named it Spencer's Chapel.

Began farming in Payson Illinois in 1903. The farm had belonged to Joseph Elliott, the grandfather of Harlow Spencer. Joseph Elliott built the Congregational church building as well as the stone bridge at Fall Creek Gorge, and some other things considered landmarks in Payson Illinois.

Olive Spencer was organist and taught Sunday school at the Congregational church. She was also a part of the Missionary Society, and the W. C. T. U. She served as president of the Woman's Fellowship in the Quincy Association of Congregational churches.

Mrs. Olive Spencer passed away at a nursing home in Quincy Illinois. She was 90. Her husband had predeceased her, in 1915.

Reverend A. H. Bisping led funeral services held at Congregational church. Interment took place at Payson New Cemetery in Payson Illinois.
