Muriel Wilson, age 96, of Somerset, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
Muriel was born in Barbourville, on August 18, 1921, one of sixteen children born to James and Amelia Frederick Ray. She worked as a restaurant cook for years before working as the special diet planner for Somerset City Hospital. She was a long time, dedicated member of West Somerset Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Richard Wilson (Veronica), of Science Hill; her grandchildren, Richard Wilson, Jeffery Wilson, Toni-Marie Wilson, Nelinda Jakubowicz and Amber Whitaker; great-grandchildren, Emily, Ronney, Ryan, Amee, Keanu, EnRico, Bryson, Allyson, Kyra, Keagan and Kyzan; and great-great-grandchildren, Maya, Noah, Kylie, Anthony, Eden and Renn.
Preceding Muriel in death are her parents; her husband, Orville Wilson; her son, Jimmy Ray Wilson; her daughter, Bonnie Jean Hutchison; and her great-grandson, Christopher Michael.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 25, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, in the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory.
Graveside services will follow the visitation on Monday, at West Somerset Cemetery, with Bro. Larry Butt officiating. Interment will be in West Somerset Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to West Somerset Baptist Church.
