A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Mildred Lantier Doucet, 91, who passed away on March 12, 2021. Burial followed in Sts. Peter and Paul Mausoleum. She was the daughter of the late Rene Sonnier and the former Elorge Broussard, and a resident of Scott.

Mildred was a pioneer in Scott, opening one of the first grocery stores, Lantier's Grocery, which later became Early's Food Store in Scott. She enjoyed gardening, camping, cooking and casino trips. She cherished vacationing with her grandkids and was known as "Ma" to everyone. Daily visits from friends and family, and her grand and great-grandkids were her most favorite pastimes.

She was a member of the Judice VFW, Post 9822, CFMA, Good Sam Camping Club, and the Sts. Peter and Paul Ladies Altar Society.

She was survived by her three daughters, seven grandchildren, fourteen great- grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, one brother, one sister-in-law, and the Doucet Family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Early Lantier; her husband of 18 years, Joseph Doucet; her siblings, Melba Guidry, Roy Sonnier, and Irene Baudoin; one granddaughter, Kim Menard and one son-in- law, Wayne Hebert.
