WOOD RIVER - Sena Schmidt, 92, of Wood River died Friday, July 14, in Good Samaritan Center at Wood River. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Westlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Vernon Schroeder will officiate. Visitation will be ...at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home...

Mrs. Schmidt was born May 15, 1897, at Platte County, the daughter of Peter and Anna Beecher Michaelsen. She attended Platte County schools. She married Henry A. Schmidt on Aug. 21, 1918, in Platte County. They lived in Grand Island. She worked at the Conoco Cafe from 192 to 1967. She was an avid crocheter and displayed many of her works at the local fairs. She was a member of the Colonial Card Club.

Survivors include one son, Earl of Grand Island; two daughters, Laverna Reimers and Delores Steele, both of Grand Island; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-great grandson and two sisters, Alma Cattau and Emma Spitz, both of Columbus. She was preceded in death by one son, Arthur, four brothers and five sisters.
