Jimmy Lynn Price, 75, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away at Select Specialty Hospital on September 10, 2017, after an extended illness. He was born in Greeneville, Tennessee. His childhood was spent in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents James Joseph and Blanche Arnott Price. Jimmy is survived by his loving twin daughters, Heather Haynes, Holly Ellis, and husband Andrew Ellis; grandchildren, the lights of his life, Jacob, Anna Claire, Emma Caroline, Jackson G, and Abigail Kate, who thought of him as her second father. He is also survived by his brother Gary Price and wife Nancy of Brentwood, Tennessee, sister Karen Leclerc of Burgbernheim, Germany, along with a niece, Mary Martha Byron, husband Kelly, as well as, several cousins. He graduated from Bulls Gap High School with many honors. Jimmy was a Summa Cum Laude graduate from East Tennessee State University. There he was an active member Pi Kappa Alpha serving in many areas, including Vice President. He graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School serving on the Law Review, along with winning several Moot Court trials in school. He was in a legal partnership with Fred Leonard, and later a partnership with Larry Weddington. He also worked with the firm Slaughter and Jackson. When he moved to Knoxville he worked with Ted Russell Dealership, and Mazda Knoxville. He was an outstanding basketball player in high school and college, playing throughout much of adulthood. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bristol where he taught junior high, and high school Sunday School classes. Jimmy was an avid Vol supporter, missing very few games, especially Pat Summit's Lady Vols. He was an avid reader and had an everlasting love of learning. There will be a celebration of his life at Church Street Methodist Church, Knoxville, Tennessee, Thursday, September 14th, 2017, with Dr. Chuck Starks. Visitation will be at 6:00 pm with service following at 7:00 pm. An interment will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Hamblin Memory Gardens in Morristown, Tennessee.
