SHREVEPORT, LA - Come join with us in the celebration of the life of Lucien Rose who went to be with God on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, after a long illness. Visitation with the family at Rose-Neath Southside will be on Saturday, August 14, 2010, beginning at Noon and the service will follow in the chapel at 2:00. Interment will be at Centuries Memorial Park.
Born 11/23/1916, Lucien was the 7th of 8 children of R. Dennis Rose and Lula Aaron Rose, in Miller County, AR. He is survived by his wife, the former Margie Elliott, and they recently celebrated their 69th Anniversary.
Lucien leaves his beloved wife, and also three children, Dr. Lucien D. Rose and Orvil (‘Arlo') Rose of Shreveport and Susan Rose Beaird and her husband Tom of the Woodlands, TX; his sister, Jewell Rose Lloyd, 91, of Texarkana, TX, His Grandchildren Shannon L. Rose of Arlington, Shelly Rose Moser of Fort Worth, Jillian Rose Beaird of Houston and Andrew Thomas Beaird, USN. In addition Lucien was also blessed with four great grandchildren: Taylor, Bailey, Sydney and Tomi Moser.
He was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church for more than 50 years where he served as a member of the choir, a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. Lucien Rose was a loving person and a man of integrity, hard work and good humor. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
