MAJOR US ARMY - WWII, KOREA
RANDOLPH - Alton A. Brown, 97, died on Sept. 1, 2017, at Togus VA. He was born in Richmond, the son of Alfred and Naomi (Marson) Brown. He graduated from Mexico High School.

He married his wife, Doris M. Civitarese, at Fort Williams, South Portland, in 1949.

Alton served his country in the United States Army during World War II and Korea, retiring after a distinguished 20-year career.

Alton was predeceased by his parents; wife Doris; stepson Elwell Civitarese; brothers Clyde, Austin, Darryl, George, Donald and Gerald Brown; and sisters Sylvia Ladd, Madelyn Ladd, Madge Libby, Shirley Hurley and Norma Brown. He is survived by his sister, Arlene Geddes, of Brunswick; and brothers, Charles, of Whitefield; and Neal and wife Priscilla, of Bowdoinham; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Alton' s request, there will not be any services. Burial will take place in Bay View Cemetery, in Bowdoinham. Arrangements are under the care of Funeral Alternatives, 198 Western Ave., Augusta. (Central Maine Newspapers 9/6/2017)
