Born July 27, 1925, in Greenport to Ruth (Vail) and Everett T. Goldsmith, she attended Southold Elementary School and was a graduate of Southold High School Class of 1943. She later attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School.
On June 5, 1948, in Southold, she married William M. Beebe of Cutchogue.
Helen was a legal secretary for Judge Henry Tasker of Greenport for five years and retired as a secretary for North Bank in Southold after 25 years of service.
She lived in Cutchogue for 25 years, then moved to Oaklawn Avenue in Southold where she resided until moving in with her daughter in Calverton in 2005. Helen was a 72-year member of the Cutchogue United Methodist Church and the Women’s Society of Christian Service.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda B. Warren of Calverton; a brother, Robert P. Goldmith of Mechanicsville, Va; two grandchildren, Julia J. Platas and Paul Smith and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Neil and Paul Smith and Julian Platas. She was predeceased by her son, William M. Beebe, Jr. in 2004.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Southold, Pastor Thomas MacLeod officiating.
