Calloway A. (C. A.) "Buddy" Massengill

"Buddy" was the son of the late William Jesse Massengill and Carrie Calloway Massengill.

He was a member of the Binghamtown Baptist Church. Buddy was a proud and patriotic Army veteran of the Korean War and had receive numerous medals for his service to his country. Buddy had been a mechanic and was retired from the United States Postal Service, he had also done sales and service for Electrolux for many years.

Buddy was a very civic minded person and had served on the Middlesboro City Council for 20 years, he was a member of the Lion's Club and the American Legion Dewey Guy Post # 14 where he had assisted with many graveside military honors for his departed brethren. One of Buddy's proudest achievements, were the many baseball teams that he had coached for several years.

His love for God, Country, City and his fellow man, was one of his greatest assets.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Roger, Tommy and Jim Massengill, Sisters: Edna Branham, Mildred Miller, Ruby Vanbeber, Wilma Mayes and the mother of his children: Willie Mae Pace Massengill.

He is survived by the following members of his family:

Loving and devoted wife of 25 years: Eula Daugherty Massengill

Sons: Danny (Lois) Massengill, David (Teresa) Massengill and Sam (Lou Ann) Massengill

Daughters: Diane (Barry) Carnes and Debbie (Gary) Mayes
Tracy Lynn (Mark) Collins

Grandchildren: Danielle (Travis) Lawson, Zachary Massengill, Jennifer (Mark) McGregor, Amanda (Keith) Burkhart, Carrie Carnes, Corey Calloway Carnes and Twins: Whitney Lynn and Elizabeth Marie Collins.

Great Grandchildren: Kaylee and Kenna Lawson, Taylor and Sawyer Smith, Sophia and Lila Joy McGregor and Zebulon Burkhart.

He was special "Poppy" to Brayden and Bryson Barnard

Brother: Harold (Anesia) Massengill

Sisters: Suzi (James) Pursiful, Helen Harris and Thelma (Don) Williams

Sisters-in-law: Joy Massengill, Ginger Massengill and Mary Lou Massengill

Special caregivers: Dr. Vicente Kaw, the Hospice Team and Renee Roper who gave him much love and care.

And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
