WEST POINT -- Mrs. Ozell Young Burges, 86, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at her residence in West Point.

Mrs. Ozell Young Burges, 86, passed away on August 23, 2017 at her residence, in West Point. Mrs. Zell was born on December 5, 1930, in Van Vleet, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Annie Hilma Smith Young. Mrs. Zell was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point, where she was a member of the Naomi Sunday School Class. Mrs. Zell worked as a Telephone Operator for South Central Bell for 15 years. Mrs. Zell enjoyed the Tin Lizzie Breakfast Club and being a part of the TRIAD group of Clay County.

Mrs. Zell married Charles Preston Burges on September 17, 1950 in West Point. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a Son-In-Law, John F. Clifton, Jr., a sister, Doris Cliett, and Three Brothers, James, Paul, Sr. and Floyd Young.

Services will be on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be on Saturday, 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Garden Cemetery.
