A native of Jetmore, KS, Mrs. Borom was raised on a farm in Arnold, KS. She attended Fort Hays Kansas State Teachers College and taught school in the Kansas School System early in her career. Mrs. Borom moved to Albany, Ga in 1958 from West Palm Beach, FL, moved to Chicago, IL in 1979 and returned to Albany, GA in 1993. She was employed with the Civil Service before retiring after twenty six years.
Mrs. Borom was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Camilla, GA. She was very active in the Women of The Moose, joining the Women of the Moose, Albany, GA Chapter # 1462 in 1961 where she became a Life Member in 1973. A member of the 100 Division of the Moose 25 Club, Mrs. Borom achieved her Academy of friendship in 1964, her College of Regents in 1966 and Star Recorder in 1970. She held the position of Director of Activities from 1979-1983, she served as the Grand Recorder from 1983-1990 and finally served as Grand Chancellor from 1990 until 1993. At her death, she held the title of Grand Chancellor Emeritus. Mrs. Borom was also a member of the Ladies of Nasah at Hasan Shrine Center.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Borom of Albany, GA, two children, Robert St. Clair and his wife, Markie of Fayetteville, GA and Jeanne Steen of Albany, GA and four grandchildren, Stephen Steen of Lady Lake, FL, Sean Steen and his wife, Jill of FT. Lauderdale, FL, Erin Russo and her husband, Matt of Nashville, TN and Ryan St. Clair of Marietta, GA.
