Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the funeral on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 8:30 a.m. from the Buyus Funeral Home, 426 Lafayette St. at Wilson Avenue, Newark. Thence to Our Lady of Fatima Church, Newark, where at 9:30 a.m. the Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Chapel Mausoleum, Newark. Mr. Rego was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, and came to the U.S. 35 years ago.
He was a laborer for the Heavy Construction Local 472 of Newark before retiring. Mr. Rego was a member of the Club Acores of Newark.
He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Mariana (nee Ferreira); devoted father of Maria Galvao and her husband, Jose, Linda Furtado, Augusta (Tina) Rangel and her husband, Manny; dear grandfather of Jose Augusto, Michael, David, Nelson, Megan and Steven.
