Louise Oden Graham, 91, of Mooresville, NC, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017, at her home following a two-year diagnosis of multiple myeloma.

Born on September 20, 1925, in Hatteras, NC, daughter of Dan Queen Oden (1892–1973) and Alice Gray Peele Oden (1894–1975).

After graduating from Louisburg College, attended East Carolina Teachers College; married 69 years to her loving husband, John Robert Graham, Sr. on December 21, 1947; worked at the Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill, NC, before starting a family of five children and six grandchildren; a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother that loved her family, church, community, and friends and served them all faithfully during her lifetime. She was a wonderful homemaker and volunteer. She especially enjoyed traveling the world. As a devout Christian woman, Louise was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and loved her Sunday school class. The Lake Norman Seedlings was the focus of her community involvement.

Also survived by her sons, John Robert Graham, Jr., Richard Eugene Graham, Charles Edward Graham (Debbie), David Lynn Graham; daughter, Emily Graham Lutz (John); and six grandchildren.

Also preceded in death by brothers, Donald Singleton Oden (1915–1993) and Carlos Desmond Oden (1917–2005); and sisters, Selma Queen Oden Hershman (1920–1995) and Melba O Oden Eure (1923–1978).

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Trinity Baptist Church, Mooresville, NC, with Rev. Dr. Brad Harrison and Rev. Dr. Robert Jackson officiating; the burial was in Glenwood Memorial Park.

Visitation was held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.

Memorials could be made to Hatteras United Methodist Church, Hatteras, NC, or Trinity Baptist Church, Mooresville, NC, or Hospice of Iredell County, Statesville, NC, or American Cancer Society, Multiple Myeloma Research, Charlotte, NC.
