She attended Muddy Valley, Martinsville and New Hampton Schools, graduating from New Hampton in 1949. While attending High School she excelled in academics, music, basketball and volleyball. Following graduation she attended Northwest Missouri State University, majoring in Business Administration.
On June 6, 1953, she married Eddie Paul Butler. To this union two children were born, Stephan E. in 1954 and Brenda S. in 1955.
Her working career spanned forty-nine years. All forty-nine years were spent serving the Albany community, working three years at the Old American Insurance Company, eight years at the ASCS and thirty-eight years at the Gentry County Bank, Bank Midwest and the Great Western Bank.
She was a member of the Albany First Christian Church and regularly attended the First Baptist Church of Albany later in life because so many of her friends attended there.
Margie loved spending time with her granddaughter Elizabeth. Her many interests included exercising, promoting healthy lifestyles, singing, sewing and reading motivational quotes.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents and husband Eddie Paul on February 12, 1999.
Survivors include: Daughter, Brenda S. Butler, Son Stephan E. Butler and Sandy Dawson, Granddaughter, Elizabeth C. Butler, Brothers, Boyd (Mavadene) Baker,Theodore Jr. (Audry) Baker, Eldon (Connie) Baker, Sister-in-law, Joan (Butler) Pool, and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
