Mrs Josephine Kirby-Smith Fayerweather, a long-time resident of Kawela Bay, died Friday in Providence, RI where she was living with her daughter and son-in-law, F Hazen Carr, formerly of Kauai.

Born October 11, 1878, Mrs Fayerweather was the daughter of General Edmund and Mrs Cassie Kirby-Smith of Sewanee, TN.

A graduate of Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, Mrs Fayerweather will be buried beside her husband, the late Dr Rhodes Fayerweather in Oahu Cemetery.

Surviving are her daughter, Kirby F Carr of Providence, RI; a brother, Dr Reynold Kirby-Smith of Sewanee, TN; sister, Mrs Nina Buck of Winnetka, IL; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Dr and Mrs Rhoades Fayerweather of Kawela Bay, Kahuku, Oahu, and formerly of Baltimore, MD, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Josephine Kirby-Smith Fayerweather to Foster Hazen Carr of Lihue, Kauai, formerly of Newport, RI.

Wedding to take place at Lihue in August.
