Waymon "W.D." Abercrombie, 78, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 in Rockwall, Texas. He was born on July 8, 1934 to Thomas and Magnolia Abercrombie in Scurry, Texas. W.D. met and later married Patricia Collins on June 20, 1959 in Dallas, Texas. W.D. worked for Cleveland Twist Drill for over twenty-one years. He loved his job and later he loved traveling all over the country with his wife Pat for their own business. But his passion was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His is a smile that will truly be missed. W.D. is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Magnolia; four brothers; one sister and one great-grandson. He is survived by his wife, Pat; sons: Rodney D. Abercrombie and his wife Kristy, and Danny Ray Abercrombie; daughters, Gail Frame and Cynthia Abercrombie; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
