Mrs. Helen Kay Helderbrand Elam, age 70, of Knightstown, Indiana, formerly of Camp Dix, Kentucky, passed away Thursday morning, July 20, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, Indiana.
She was born May 29, 1947, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter Cletus Oral and Betty Jean Stamper Helderbrand.
Helen was a member of the Hilltop Tabernacle Church and enjoyed going on vacation, eating, visiting with her family, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Everett Elam and one brother, Gary Ray Helderbrand.
Helen is survived by one son, Cory Elam; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly Driesbach and Jack, and Kelly Carrington and Dave; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four brothers and six sisters-in-law, Ronald Helderbrand and Gala, Kevin Helderbrand and Holly, Terry Helderbrand and Lisa, Randy Helderbrand and Rhonda, Susie Helderbrand, and Theora Goff. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix, Kentucky, with Brother Randy Goff officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix, 7975 Lower Kinney Road, Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
Terry Helderbrand, Randy Helderbrand, Kevin Helderbrand, Bo Helderbrand, Josh Helderbrand, and David Driesbach will serve as pallbearers.
