Victor was born February 28, 1927 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Otto and Antonia Braeutigam Eckhardt.
He married Jocelyn “Josie” Roeder on November 18, 1948 at St. Mary’s.
Victor served his Country in the United States Navy.
Victor farmed and ranched his entire life

Victor is survived by his wife Jocelyn “Josie” Eckhardt of Fredericksburg
Four children and spouses: Gary and Lorna Eckhardt of Mason
Rodney and Margie Eckhardt of Fredericksburg
Ann Denise Wilson of Harper
Daniel and Sheila Eckhardt of Fredericksburg
9 Grandchildren and spouses: Tonya and Justin Sultemeier, Britney and Chad Ottmers, Jason Smith, Amber and Greg Weidenfeller, Chad and Jetta Eckhardt, Kaiser, Baylie, and Callie Eckhardt, Jennifer and Richard Terry

Along with his parents, Victor was preceded in death by siblings: Clemens, Alvin, and Gilbert Eckhardt, Esther Williams, Norma Hoffman, Adeline Carter

His body will lie in state in the Chapel of the Schaetter Funeral until 12:45 P.M. Friday afternoon with a Mass of Resurrection at 1:00 P.M. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Nolan officiating.

Graveside Services and Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the, St. Mary’s Capitol Campaign, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, or to the charity of one’s choice.

Visitation for Victor Eckhardt will be held on Thursday July 20th from 4-7 and on Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 12:45 P.M. in the Chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home.
