Richard C. Baxter, aged 72, of Moline, MI, passed away in Casa Grande, Arizona on March 2, 2012, where he found much joy in his hobbies of golfing, fishing, lapidary, and silver-smithing with friends after retirement from a business, B&B W/W Consultants, Inc. , he created and managed for over thirty years. He held three patents in wastewater treatment that were ahead of their times. His business was his pride and is still thriving thanks to his family, staff and customers it served. Surviving are; Marian, his wife of 48 years; children, Joseph K.(Ronda) Baxter and Kimberly S. (Jim) Haley; grandchildren, Aaron Scaturro and Samantha Haley. He was preceded in death by grandson, Eric Scaturro and his loyal pet, Buddy. He will be missed by his siblings, Bill (Faye) Baxter, Rita (Bob) Winwood, Clara (Everett) Macomber, Kenneth (Barb) Baxter, Tony (Thea) Baxter; also many nieces and nephews. Richard was born in Arkansas to Jesse and Harriet Baxter. They moved to the Wayland area when he was twelve. He attended and graduated from Middleville Schools. He served the City of Wayland for a time as Maintenance Supervisor before retiring to start B&B W/W. Many loving friends had a Memorial Service at Casa Grande after his cremation.
